Update: We enjoyed fine weather, Annette’s amazing home-made food for lunch and fun and games in the Village hall at night. The first day was mostly brush clearance while the second day we were coppicing and felling trees. Definitely the best trip of the year so far.
On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November we will be going on our annual residential trip to Alfrick, a village near the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. We will be working on Ravenshill Woodland Reserve run by Trevor and Annette. BUCG has been visiting this reserve for many years and is definitely on of the best trips each year. Typical tasks are scrub clearance, path maintenance, coppicing and tree felling.
We will travel there by car and minibus on Saturday morning. We will stay overnight in the village hall with dinner at a local pub beforehand and then return to Bristol on the Sunday afternoon. Please email Jess with you choice of dinner from the pub menu which can be found here.
The price for the trip is £15 which includes travel, accommodation, breakfast and refreshments – definitely well worth it! Since the trip tends to be very popular it may be the case that there is not enough room for everyone to go. In that case Jess will pick people at random from a hat. Email Jess if you would like to go on what is sure to be a great trip.
