Unfortunately, a couple of our committee members have had to step down from their roles recently. This means there are a couple of spots on the committee open to new members!
Being on the BUCG comittee is a great opportunity to contribute to your society, have fun, and looks great on your CV (particularly if you’re aiming for a career in environmental work, or just to show off your teamwork, responsibility and organisiational skills). If you decide to run for a position, you will be asked to give a small speech telling members whey they should vote for you. Don’t worry, it’s very casual and people usually talk for less than a minute!
The roles that are open are Social Secretary and Providence Plantation Officer.
Social Secretary: Organise regular socials and the AGM. We already have one Social Secretary, however, we’re looking for another so we can make our socials as fun as possible!
Providence Plantation Officer: Charged with the planning of BUCG’s work at the University’s woodland at Long Ashton, managing it for biodiversity and public enjoyment. In partnership with the University Estates office. Once again, we already have one Providence Officer, but we’re looking for another to provide a bit of extra support!
