On the afternoon of Sunday 29th April we will be having a nature walk around Providence Plantation guided by experts from the Bristol Naturalists Society. This is a great oppurtinity to lear about the woodland wildlife, especially about birdsong invertabrates and recording methods. We will begin the event with a picnic in the woods. UPDATE: Again, because of the snow we have had to cancel the trip.
On Sunday 18th March we will be going to Berrow Dunes in Somerset. BUCG has been going there yearly to help Sedgemoor District Council preserve the dunes and wetlands in the area. If you would like to join us on this seaside trip please email Heather by 7pm on Thursday 15th March – places are limited.

We are going on a trip with the Avon Wildlife Trust on Sunday 4th March. Their trips are always great and they find really interesting and different activities for us to do. With coursework and strikes stressing everyone out, this is a great opportunity to get outside and away from Bristol for a day. Please email Heather by 7pm on Friday 2nd March if you are interested.
On the weekend of 10th-11th of Febuary we will be going on our annual residential trip to Alfrick in Wocestershire. We will be working on the Ravenshill Woodland Reserve (where we have been going to for many years) and staying at Alfrick village hall.
The trip is always loads of fun with a meal at a local pub and games in the evening and home cooked lunch from Annette, the wife of Trevor the warden.
Please email Heather ASAP if you would like to go as places are limited. If you do not get a place on this trip you will be given priority on the next residential in March.
For our final trip of the term we will be heading to Providence Plantation on Sunday 3rd December. We will be get some last bits of work done like path clearance before Christmas. It is a great chance to get outside as deadlines pile on and see the progress we’ve been making with managing the land!

On Sunday 19th November Joe McSorley from the Avon Wildlife Trust will be leading us on a trip to Goblin Coombe just to the south west of Bristol. We will be clearing grassland of scrub with loppers and hand saws. There are great views across the Severn estuary and we will have a bonfire. They also have a flock of goats in the area.
There are limited spaces on this trip, so, if you want to come along, please email Heather by 7pm Thursday 16th November. Sign up is on a first come first serve basis, but if you canot get on this trip you will be given priority on the next trip.
