Our first two trips of the year will be Give-it-a-Go taster trips on Sunday 6th and 13th October. We will be heading to the university-owned woodland of Providence Plantation which we help to manage. On both days we will meet at 10 am at the Students’ Union and 10:30 am at Bristol Bus & Coach Station. You do not need to be a member to come along just email to let us know if you would like to take part.

We will be going on our annual residential trip to Anglesey from Sunday 15th September to Thursday 19th September. We will be staying at the Anglesey Guide Centre while doing some great conservation work at the Cors Goch National Nature Reserve run by the North Wales Wildlife Trust. The cost of the trip is expected to be about £85 for accommodation and transport.
This is always a highlight of the year. It is great fun and a chance to see a beautiful corner of the country.

We are also looking into extending this trip to include the preceeding four days (from Wednesday 11th to Sunday 15th) in Cheshire before we head straight to Anglesey. There may be limited numbers for this trip so again let us know if you are interested and names may have to be chosen at random if this part of the trip is oversubscribed.
For the weekend of the 23rd and 24th March we will be heading to North Devon for a residential trip. We will be staying at the home smallholding of one of our ex-vice-presidents set in a beautiful countryside. On Saturday we will be working on a local nature reserve and on the the Sunday we will be helping on the smallholding.
There will be a total cost of £35 for this trip including a £10 deposit to be paid beforehand. If you would like to go please email Lucy by 7pm Wednesday 13th March.
On Sunday 24th Febuary we will be heading out on another trip with Avon Wildlife Trust. These trips are always really good fun and a great way to learn some conservation tips from the pros.
There is a £3 cost for this trip and the AWT will be taking us by minibus, meaning there are limited spaces. If you would like to go please email Lucy, our president, by 7pm on Wednesday 20th Febuary. You must be a member to come along on this trip.
We are having a ‘Give it a Go’ trip on Sunday 10th Febuary. This will be just like our regular trips to Providence Plantation, but will also be a chance for potential new members to see what we get up to at BUCG. Therefore, you do not need to be a member yet to come along, however current members are of course still welcome!
As this is a Give it a Go session and is open to everyone, I will not be asking for sign ups. Simply turn up at Bristol SU at 10:15am.

Welcome back! For out first trip of the new year, we’ll be heading to Providence Plantation on Saturday 26th January. We will be doing some light conservation work to ease us back into the swing of things. This is the perfect way to get some fresh air an exercise after all those long weeks of revision and exams! As usual, we’ll be having lots of tea and biscuit breaks!

On Sunday 9th December we will be heading to Providence Platation for a nature walk guided by experts from the Bristol Naturalist Society. This will be a great opportunity for you to get to our regular woodland a bit better and to learn what sort of flora and fauna you can look out for on our trips there.
On the weekend of the 24th-25th November we will be going to Brownsea Island in Dorset. This will be our first residential trip of the year and a first for Conservation Group, as we have never been there before. We will be working with the National Trust who run most of the island. We will be leaving Bristol early on Saturday morning, staying overnigh before returning late on Sunday evening. The trip will cost approximately £30, however, this depends on numbers, so may change.

Please register you interest even if you are not completely sure you can come yet, as we need an idea of numbers. Also, if you would like to come and have a car and would be willing to drive (it is about a 2 hour drive), please let Lucy know (you will be reimbursed for fuel).
On Sunday 28th October we will going on a trip to Browne’s Folly to help the Avon Wildlife Trust with some conservation work. This is sure to be a great day, and will be a fantastic chance to learn about conservation from the experts. There will be a £3 cost for this trip, which you can bring along on the day.
